In Alanya's Konaklı District, pollution at the point where the stream meets the sea has sparked reactions. With the rising temperatures during the summer, citizens wanting to swim in the sea have expressed their concerns, claiming that hotel wastewater is mixing with the sea. They pointed out that the discharge of wastewater from hotels not only harms the environment but also poses a serious health risk to those swimming in the sea. The local community noted that this problem has been ongoing for a long time and they are expecting urgent intervention from the authorities. Citizens have called on the authorities to find a solution to this issue as soon as possible for the sake of their health and environmental protection.

"We are waiting for an urgent solution"

A local resident of the Altınkum Tatil Sitesi described the situation as follows: "I live in the Altınkum Tatil Sitesi on Mustafa Kemal Boulevard in the Konaklı District of Alanya. For the past 30 years, we have been swimming in the sea despite various unpleasant odors, agricultural waste, and rainwater from nearby hotels, which sometimes contains waste discharged by the hotels, coming from the covered stream passing through the underpass next to our complex. We are expecting the authorities to find a solution to this problem as soon as possible."
