Anamur and Manavgat have surpassed Alanya

According to TÜİK data, Alanya ranks third in banana production. In 2004, 22,000 tons of bananas were harvested in Alanya, and this figure rose to 139,000 tons in 2024.
Production figures have been released for Alanya, which has shown significant growth in agriculture and livestock. Based on information from TÜİK, while 22,000 tons of bananas were produced about 20 years ago, this figure increased by 600% to 140,000 tons in 2024. Anamur ranks first in banana production with 250,000 tons, Manavgat is second with 164,000 tons, and Alanya holds third place with 139,000 tons of production.
PRODUCTION INCREASED BY 600%
Alanya, as one of Turkey’s important centers for banana and avocado production, has recorded a significant 600% increase in banana production over the past 20 years. According to TÜİK data, an examination of banana production areas and figures between 2004 and 2024 reveals noticeable agricultural developments and production increases in the region.
PRODUCTION UNDER COVER ON 7,400 DECARES
According to information provided by District Agricultural Director Mehmet Rüzgar, in Alanya, banana production in 2024 will be 83,400 tons on 13,900 decares of land, while under-cover production on 7,400 decares will yield 55,500 tons of bananas. Director Rüzgar stated to the Alanya Posta Media team, "One-third of banana production in Turkey is carried out in Alanya. At the same time, our banana production is rapidly transitioning under cover. Alanya makes a significant contribution to the country's economy through banana production."
