A rescue operation that rivals scenes from a movie

In Antalya, a foreign national who fell from a cliff in a park was rescued by firefighters. The rescue operation, lasting about an hour, resembled scenes from a movie.

The incident occurred around 6:30 PM in Yavuz Özcan Park, located in the Kışla neighborhood. According to reports, a man in his 50s, whose identity could not be established, fell from a cliff approximately 10 meters high. After nearby citizens alerted the 112 Emergency Call Center, numerous firefighters, police, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.

Firefighters reached the man using ropes. The rescue operation lasted about an hour and was reminiscent of movie scenes. The man, who sustained severe injuries from the fall, was extracted by firefighters and handed over to medical teams. Following initial treatment, the injured man was transported to the Training and Research Hospital.

A witness to the incident recounted what happened. Himmet Arı, who was passing by, said, “I was coming from the opposite side, and my friend was standing on the bridge, smoking a cigarette. After taking a breath, he placed his hand on the metal railing and then fell down. I assume he was a foreign national; we saw him lying motionless for a long time, and then he started moving and rolled down to the bottom of the bridge. We immediately alerted the teams.” An investigation has been launched regarding the incident.
