Latvian Tourist Dies in Manavgat

A Latvian tourist vacationing in the Manavgat district of Antalya became ill while swimming and nearly drowned. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the tourist could not be saved. It was revealed that his birthday was just 9 days away.

Juris Ivanovs, a 70-year-old Latvian tourist visiting the Kumköy tourism area in Manavgat's Ilıca neighborhood, became unwell in the sea around noon yesterday. After being noticed by people on the beach, he was brought to shore and given first aid by medical teams called to the scene. He was then transferred to a private hospital.

Despite doctors' efforts, Juris Ivanovs could not be saved. It was later learned that his birthday was only 9 days away.
