The Senate meeting of Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKÜ) was held at the Gazipaşa campus, where the details of the planned Tourism and Training Hotel project to be established in Gazipaşa were discussed.

Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKÜ) continues to grow not only academically and scientifically but also physically. The first Senate meeting for the 2024-2025 academic year took place at the Gazipaşa campus. Before the meeting, ALKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Kenan Ahmet Türkdoğan met with Gazipaşa Mayor Mehmet Ali Yılmaz. The Senate meeting, chaired by Rector Türkdoğan, included vice rectors, the general secretary, deans of faculties, and directors of vocational schools.

GOOD NEWS FOR GAZIPAŞA: TOURISM TRAINING HOTEL

Before the Senate meeting, Rector Türkdoğan and his team met with Mayor Mehmet Ali Yılmaz for breakfast. Rector Türkdoğan exchanged ideas regarding the ALKÜ Tourism and Training Hotel planned to be established on a land allocated in Pazarcı neighborhood by the General Directorate of National Property under the Ministry of Environment, Urban Planning, and Climate Change. Mayor Yılmaz expressed that the municipality would provide all necessary support. The agenda of the Senate meeting focused on the ALKÜ Tourism and Training Hotel project. Rector Türkdoğan stated, "In our young university, where the number of students increases every year, we currently have about 17 thousand students. There was a need for a practical hotel concept to serve both students and staff. We received a positive response from the General Directorate of National Property. After the land allocation, we will begin construction of our tourism and training hotel. I am confident that our project will be completed in a short time. I thank Minister Murat Kurum and General Director Veli Tunçez for their support. I hope our new project will be beneficial." During the continuation of the Senate meeting, projects and activities for the 2024-2025 academic year were discussed in detail. Rector Türkdoğan wished success for the new term and new projects for Alanya and the scientific community. After the meeting, he visited the students of the Hotel, Restaurant, and Catering Services Department at Gazipaşa Mustafa Rahmi Büyükballı Vocational School, where he listened to their wishes and expectations. Rector Türkdoğan emphasized that they will continue to work in all areas to enhance the learning experience for all ALKÜ students and wished success to both the academic staff and students.
