In the list of districts that will become provinces, Alanya's name was not even mentioned: The statement drew reactions

A major internet site in Turkey published the news "Which districts will become provinces?", and the lack of mention of Alanya has sparked significant backlash from the public.

For years, the question "Which districts will become provinces?" has been on the agenda in Turkey. In light of the latest statement from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), an answer to this question is being sought. It has been stated that districts meeting the conditions of "a population of over 100,000 and a distance of no more than 30 km to the provincial center" could become provinces. It is also noted that the map of Turkey may change according to the new provinces. In this context, it has been observed that 24 districts meet the criteria for becoming provinces, raising the question "Will the number of provinces become 105?"

HOW CAN A DISTRICT BECOME A PROVINCE?

TÜİK has established specific criteria for districts to achieve provincial status. Economic factors, as well as education, transportation, social services, and community structure, are evaluated.
