The people of Mahmutlar in Alanya are left without support

According to claims, the attempt to install electricity poles in Mahmutlar by an electricity company without expropriation and necessary permits has infuriated the citizens.

Residents of Mahmutlar, the most populous neighborhood in Alanya, are outraged. It is claimed that an electricity company is attempting to install large electricity poles on Recepli Street in Mahmutlar without expropriation and necessary permits. The residents have appealed to the authorities. Mücahit Pişkin, a member of the Alanya Chamber of Commerce and Industry Council, stated, 'The authorities of TEIAŞ have invaded people’s titled lands on Recepli Street in Mahmutlar. They have started clearing the land and preparing the ground for the largest nine-cable electricity poles without any permit documents, court orders, or expropriation. The necessary reports have been made, and the public prosecutor's office has halted the work. The base area of the poles to be installed is about 100 square meters, and their distance from the houses is 20 meters, which is another concern. I am a heart patient. These poles are very large. They will emit radiation. They are endangering our health. We are definitely not against the service being provided. However, there is forest land above. If the electricity poles pass through there, it won’t harm anyone. We do not want the wires to pass right next to our homes. We will do our best for our neighborhood. In this process, we ask for support from our mayor, unit managers, NGO presidents, district heads, and our citizens. Please listen to our voices".
