The strongest expected earthquake in Alanya has been announced: Antalya, Manavgat, Mersin

After the consecutive earthquakes in Alanya, concerns among citizens have grown. Geophysical Engineer Prof. Dr. Övgün Ahmet Ercan made significant statements about the potential strongest earthquake scenario in the region.

Ercan, commenting on the 5.1 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Alanya, stated that the strongest expected earthquake in the region could reach a magnitude of 6.2. However, he noted that even such an earthquake would not cause destructive effects in major cities such as Alanya, Antalya, Manavgat, Mersin, and Adana.

Prof. Dr. Ercan, calling on the public to remain calm, said: “The strongest earthquake expected in this region is 6.2 magnitude. Even if such an earthquake occurs, it will not have a destructive effect in Antalya, Alanya, Manavgat, or Mersin. It will only shake. People should not worry.”
