Alanya had a busy 2024

Alanya Municipality is closing out 2024 with a year full of events, including national and international championships, festivals, fairs, and other activities.

The Alanya International Children's Festival, organized every year by Alanya Municipality during the week of April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day, was held for the 6th time behind the municipal building for two days, with enthusiastic and fun participation from children. The festival featured a DJ performance, clown, hoop, juggler, LOL doll, bubble, magician, balloon folding, and a children's play by the Alanya Municipality Theater. Students from many different countries around the world also added color to the festival with their dance performances.

CULTURE AND ART WIND

The 22nd edition of the Alanya International Culture, Art, and Tourism Festival, organized by the Alanya Municipality to promote the city’s cultural, artistic, and tourism values, was held this year. The festival, organized under the slogan "Bir Nefes Alanya" ("A Breath of Alanya"), featured performances by KÖFN, Ziynet Sali, and Yeni Türkü on festival nights. The event was decorated with nearly 400 stalls, exhibition areas, and entertainment, attracting thousands of visitors over three days.

GÖKBEL PLATEAU HOSTS HEAD WRESTLERS

This year’s 18th edition of the Traditional Alanya Gökbel Oil Wrestling saw many firsts. The festival, held over two days, included a Kubat concert, off-road show, and a variety of colorful activities. In the arena, 60 head wrestlers and 750 wrestlers competed. Children from 102 neighborhoods in Alanya, ages 8 to 12, also participated in the wrestling area. For this innovation, the municipality provided the children with personalized special wrestling costumes, adding extra flair to the event.

ALANYA INTERNATIONAL JAZZ FESTIVAL

The annual Alanya Jazz Days, eagerly awaited by jazz lovers, took place under the hosting of the Alanya Municipality near the historic Red Tower, offering a unique view for four days. During the 19th edition of the festival, world-renowned artist Monica Molina performed, delivering an unforgettable concert that will be remembered for a long time.

A TRIATHLON FIRST IN YEARS

Alanya hosted the 33rd edition of the European Triathlon Cup this year, with 367 athletes from 26 countries participating in age groups, elite men, elite women, and popular triathlon categories. The first popular triathlon, held in 1992, was organized this year under the motto "Where We Left Off" after many years, in order to bring the triathlon sport that is synonymous with the city closer to the public.

ALANYA BOOK FAIR RECEIVES GREAT INTEREST

The 6th Alanya Book Fair, organized by Alanya Municipality, took place for 10 days at the Alanya Cultural Center and 100th Year Park, featuring colorful events and talks. Book lovers had the opportunity to meet their favorite authors while exploring the fair.

THE 3RD TROPICAL FRUIT FESTIVAL WELCOMES THOUSANDS

The 3rd Tropical Fruit Festival, an important event that contributes to the recognition of Alanya’s fruitful tropical lands both nationally and internationally, supported producers, and increased young people's interest in agriculture, was held behind the municipal building for three days. The festival, featuring vibrant events, exhibitions, workshops, competitions, and stalls, attracted a large number of visitors.

INTERNATIONAL CHRISTMAS MARKET CELEBRATION

The 14th edition of the Alanya International Christmas Market was held behind the municipal building this year. Numerous citizens from various countries showcased their cultural traditions and customs at their stalls and had the opportunity to share them with others. Thousands gathered under a nearly 14-meter-tall artificial tree, enjoying food and gift stalls and creating unforgettable memories. The event area was packed with visitors for two days, and activities and photo areas were very popular.

INTERNATIONAL STONE SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM

The 19th Alanya International Stone Sculpture Symposium, organized by Alanya Municipality, Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, and the Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV), attracted 149 sculptors from 46 countries. Sculptors from 7 countries spent one month creating their works.

2025 WILL BE EVEN MORE GLAMOROUS

The national and international events organized by Alanya Municipality, which are improving each year, will continue without slowing down in 2025. Events scheduled for 2025 include Ramazan Square Events from March 1-29, the 7th Alanya International Children's Festival on April 26-27, the 23rd Alanya International Culture, Art, and Tourism Festival from May 23-25, the International 2025 Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Futures Tournament in June, the European Beach Handball Championship from July 3-13, the 19th Gökbel Oil Wrestling Festival on August 7-10, the 20th Alanya International Jazz Festival on September 25-28, the 7th Alanya Book Fair from September 26 to October 5, the 4th Alanya Tropical Fruit Festival on October 10-12, the 34th Alanya International Triathlon on October 18-19, the 20th International Stone Sculpture Symposium from November 1-30, and the 15th Alanya International Christmas Market on December 13-14.
