In Alanya’s Hacımehmetli neighborhood, a dramatic showdown between a stray cat and a snake, captured moment by moment on a mobile phone, unfolded at the entrance of an apartment building. The cat’s efforts to fend off the snake with its paws and the snake’s defensive responses showcased the surprising and wild side of nature. The footage quickly drew attention on social media.

The incident occurred yesterday afternoon outside a five‑story apartment on Bağderesi Street. A calm stray cat suddenly noticed a snake nearby and instinctively attacked, swiping with its paws to chase it away. The snake hissed and lunged back in defense. During this intense “paws and hisses” duel, the persistent cat drove the snake towards the entrance gate.

To escape, the snake climbed up the gate’s railings, but the brave cat followed. After a few tense minutes, the cat retreated and the snake descended, quickly slithering into the greenery in the apartment’s yard and disappearing.
