Interest in Wood Stoves Increases in Alanya

After the recent increase in electricity prices, the residents of Alanya found a solution to heating their homes in wood stoves. Despite a 20% price increase compared to previous years, the demand for stoves has risen.

The ongoing economic crisis continues to strain citizens, especially during the winter months. In Alanya, where there is no natural gas, residents have been turning to electricity for heating. After the electricity price hike, citizens started switching to wood stoves. Stove prices have increased by 20%. The cost of stoves ranges from 2,000 to 30,000 Turkish lira. Many businesses are also turning to Pellet Stoves to cope with high electricity bills during the winter.

İsmet Toklu, the owner of Toklu Kardeşler İmalatı, which sells stoves in Alanya and Gazipaşa, said: "Looking at the 2023-2024 season, this year has been good for us. The electricity price hikes have also played a role. People also want to see fire. Stoves are changing every year. We try to offer different models that can meet the needs of the public. For example, restaurants, which face high electricity bills, have turned to Pellet Stoves. In terms of pricing, the increase has been minimal — only 20%. People can choose a stove according to their budget, from 2,000 to 30,000 Turkish lira. We also sell related products, such as wood racks, which range from 750 to 5-6 thousand lira."

LET'S STOP SHOPPING ONLINE

Toklu also warned citizens about online shopping: "I want to tell the citizens: let's stop shopping online. We pay rent, taxes, and employ workers. Let's not deal with online scammers. Our prices are very reasonable and economical," he added.
