In the Gazipaşa district of Antalya, a traffic accident occurred at night when an intoxicated driver rolled back and hit a police vehicle. The driver, found to have a blood alcohol level of 3.74‰, was fined a significant amount, and his vehicle was towed to a parking lot. Authorities stated that inspections would be intensified.

On Rıza Büyükakça Street in Yeni Mahalle, Gazipaşa, an unusual incident took place at the intersection near the Population Office. The driver of a truck with license plate 07 HVF 78, identified as V.A., stopped at a red light but failed to move when the light turned green. Shortly after, the truck began rolling backward and collided with a police vehicle belonging to the Gazipaşa Regional Traffic Inspection Station.

POLICE OFFICER NARROWLY ESCAPED DANGER

Fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities in the accident. However, the police vehicle sustained material damage to its left front headlight. Following the incident, police and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene. Traffic was briefly disrupted, and authorities launched an investigation at the site.

SHOCKING ADMISSION: DRUNK AND UNLICENSED

An inspection revealed that the truck driver, V.A., was heavily intoxicated with a blood alcohol level of 3.74‰. Additionally, it was discovered that he did not have a driver’s license. Admitting his intoxication at the scene, V.A. was fined a total of 28,000 TL for violating traffic rules.

VEHICLE TOWED, INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED

The truck was removed from traffic and towed to a parking lot. Authorities emphasized that drivers exceeding the legal alcohol limit pose a significant risk on the roads and announced that inspections would be intensified.
