Very close to Antalya, Alanya, and Manavgat: Köprülü Canyon enchants with its natural beauty

One of Antalya’s natural wonders, Köprülü Canyon enchants visitors with its historical texture and breathtaking views. Located in the Beşkonak area of the Manavgat district, this national park stands out with its proximity to major tourist centers like Alanya and Manavgat. Stretching 14 kilometers, Köprülü Canyon is a deep valley formed by millions of years of erosion by the Köprüçay River. With steep cliffs rising up to 400 meters in some parts, it ranks among Turkey’s most impressive natural formations.
Situated within the boundaries of a national park, the area is a haven of biodiversity, home to over 500 plant species, endemic wildlife, and a wide variety of birds. The river flowing through the red pine forests dazzles the eye and offers a sense of tranquility.
A JOURNEY THROUGH HISTORY
Köprülü Canyon fascinates not only with its nature but also with its rich history. Located in the ancient region of Pamphylia, the area is home to the ancient city of Selge and contains numerous Roman-era structures. The ancient theater, temples, aqueducts, and historic bridges offer visitors a journey through time.
In particular, Oluk Bridge and Büğrüm Bridge are among the canyon’s most iconic historical structures. These Roman-era bridges are still in use today.
