Pro Beach Volleyball Tour 2025 Kicks Off in Alanya: 224 Athletes from 29 Countries Compete for the Title

The Alanya stage of the World Beach Volleyball Pro Tour 2025, organized in cooperation with the Alanya Municipality and the Turkish Volleyball Federation (TVF), kicked off with the opening match between the Turkish national team and New Zealand. A total of 224 athletes from 29 countries are competing for the championship.

Alanya is once again hosting an international sports event. One of the key stops on the 2025 Pro Tour calendar, the tournament began today at the Alanya International Beach Sports Center. This prestigious event brings together top beach volleyball stars from around the globe to the golden sands of Alanya. The excitement of the “international beach volleyball tournament in Alanya” is drawing strong interest from sports fans.

National Team Faced New Zealand in the Opening Match

On the first day of the tournament, the opening match in the women's category featured Turkey vs. New Zealand. Representing the Turkish national team, Su Simdim and Merve Nezir faced their New Zealand opponents Shaunna Polley and Oliva Macdonald. After a competitive match, the Turkish team lost 2-0, with set scores of 21-12 and 21-9. Despite the result, other Turkish athletes will continue to compete in the coming days.

Final Matches Set for June 14-15

The tournament's much-anticipated final matches will take place over the weekend. Quarterfinal and semifinal matches will be played on June 14, followed by the finals for both women’s and men’s categories on Sunday, June 15. Alanya will witness the pinnacle of beach volleyball during these dates.
