They broke a record in Manavgat: The giant watermelon was hard to carry even with a wheelbarrow

A farmer named Lütfü Ay, living in the Manavgat district of Antalya, grew a giant watermelon weighing 58 kilograms from a special seed he planted out of curiosity. The massive fruit, which had to be transported with a wheelbarrow, caused quite a stir on social media.
Farmer Lütfü Ay described the growing process as follows:
"I didn’t expect it to grow this big. I planted the seed just out of curiosity, and the result surprised me."

The 58-kilogram watermelon received huge attention on social media. Other farmers in the region also began researching this special seed. Experts, however, caution that care is needed.
"Such giant fruits can be important in terms of showing agricultural potential. But scientific research is needed to determine if they are suitable for commercial production."

Lütfü Ay stated that part of the watermelon would be displayed at a local agricultural fair, and the rest would be shared with his neighbors.
