Foreigners Rush for Burial in Alanya | Graveyard Demand Surges

In Antalya, especially Alanya, foreigners are not only choosing to live in Turkey but also planning to be buried here, as demand for family grave plots rises.
Antalya has become a place where foreigners plan not only their lives but also their deaths. The number of family graves sold to foreigners across the city has reached 60, with 7 more allocated in the first half of this year. Germans make up the majority of the buyers.
There are special burial areas for non-Muslims in places like Alanya, Manavgat, and Kurşunlu Cemeteries. In 2024, a total of 190 foreigners were buried in Antalya, while in the first half of 2025, this number has already reached 79. The top nationalities include Germans, Russians, and Ukrainians.
In cemeteries operated by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, a double grave plot is sold for 108,000 TL and a four-person plot for 216,000 TL. This trend highlights the growing permanence of the foreign population in the region.
