QR Code Era Begins in Food Businesses in Alanya

According to a new regulation by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, food businesses in Turkey will be required to display a QR code starting from July 28, 2025. Through this QR code, consumers will instantly be able to access inspection and registration information of the business.

The “QR Code Implementation in Food Businesses” project, launched by the Ministry to enhance transparency in digitalization and inspection processes, will become mandatory on the specified date.

As per the decision published in the Official Gazette, businesses such as butchers, bakeries, dessert shops, ice cream parlors, grocery stores, greengrocers, and mass consumption venues like restaurants, cafés, and dining halls must place the QR code in a location clearly visible to consumers.

Thanks to this new system, citizens will be able to quickly and easily scan the code via their smartphones and access the business's official registration and inspection data.

Ali İhsan Özdemir, Vice President of the Alanya Chamber of Tradesmen and Craftsmen, commented:

We are ready to provide all necessary support to our tradespeople."

Özdemir emphasized that the initiative is not only important for consumer safety but also plays a key role in combating unregistered operations.

All businesses in the food sector must generate and display their QR codes by July 28.

The Alanya Chamber of Tradesmen announced that they will monitor the process and offer technical support to their members.
