In a video circulating on social media, the incident occurred in the evening at Tosmur Taxi Stand in Alanya. The tourist, who was visiting from the TRNC, recorded the moment on video, saying: “He won’t turn on the meter and tells me to find another taxi if I want one with a meter. He’s asking 400 lira for a ride that normally costs 170.” The taxi driver is seen shamelessly replying, “Yes,” and continues driving. Turkish tourists who witnessed the incident and recorded it with their phones reported the driver to the police.
