German Tour Operator Dertour Kicks Off 2025/2026 Winter Season with Record Growth

Germany-based tour operator Dertour has made a record-breaking start to the 2025/2026 winter season with an 11% increase in bookings. Turkey stands out as one of the top short-haul destinations, with Alanya expected to benefit significantly from this growth.

According to Dertour Germany’s Operations Director Mark Tantz, the company has already completed 11% more bookings compared to the same period last year. Over 80% of hotels and tour programs are already on sale—what Tantz calls "a first in the company’s history."

TURKEY IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Spain, Egypt, Turkey, Germany, and Tunisia lead the list of most preferred short- and medium-haul destinations. For long-haul travel, Thailand, the Indian Ocean islands, the Caribbean, the UAE, and North America dominate.

In collaboration with sister brands ITS and Meiers Weltreisen, Dertour offers its most extensive winter program ever, featuring around 1,200 package tours—many of which are customizable. The company currently offers 350 exclusive hotels through Dertour alone, aiming to expand that number. "We’re planning double-digit growth in our exclusive portfolio," said Product Director Sven Schikarsky.

SPECIALIZED CATALOGS

Dertour has also released tailored catalogs for different target groups—families, wellness vacationers, active travelers, golf lovers, and culture enthusiasts. According to Schikarsky, Dertour is “the operator with the widest target audience in the German tourism market.”

INCREASED HOTEL CAPACITY

Due to high demand, the number of hotels in Sharm El Sheikh has increased by over 30%, now totaling 27. Major chains like Jaz, Sunrise, and Rixos are included. Direct flights with airlines like Corendon make the region more accessible.

In Hurghada, adults-only hotel Ananea Hurghada is preparing for its first winter season, as is Sentido Marilia in Tunisia.

In Thailand, Dertour offers nearly 300 hotels and 28 tour packages, including a new “Southern Route” small group tour and the fully renovated Ananea Beyond Khaolak resort.

The Indian Ocean destinations Maldives and La Réunion are being supported with new offerings. Ananea Madivaru Maldives launches its first winter season, while La Réunion’s new “Mafate Crater” hiking tour—accessible only by foot or helicopter—targets adventure seekers. Helicopter tours on the island are also new additions.

In the Caribbean, large family rooms and children’s discounts stand out, with Viva Miches by Wyndham in the Dominican Republic being a highlight.

In the UAE, an innovative “Dubai City Hotel Roulette” concept lets travelers book a 4- or 5-star hotel, discovering their exact stay only shortly before travel. Stays are available for 4 or 7 nights, with extension options.
