The Boeing 777 aircraft registered TC-LKF, operating Turkish Airlines flight TK2430 from Istanbul at 17:45, successfully landed at Antalya Airport. However, as the aircraft was taxiing, smoke was observed coming from the landing gear. Firefighting teams responded immediately. Based on their advice, emergency slides were deployed as a precaution, and 247 passengers along with 13 crew members were safely evacuated. No injuries were reported. Initial technical inspection revealed that the smoke was caused by a malfunction in a hydraulic pipe.
Enes Çakmak, Chairman and General Manager of the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMI), shared the following statement on social media:
“Today, following the landing of Turkish Airlines flight TK-2430, a Boeing 777-300 aircraft operating the Istanbul–Antalya route, smoke was noticed by the air traffic controller coming from the landing gear while the plane was taxiing. The pilot was immediately informed. Prompt coordination between the control tower and ARFF (Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting) units allowed our teams to arrive on the scene quickly. Thanks to their rapid and effective intervention, 247 passengers and 13 crew members were safely evacuated. After inspection, the aircraft was successfully moved to a secure area. I thank all our colleagues, especially our air traffic control and ARFF teams, who responded swiftly and professionally. I extend my best wishes to all passengers, crew, and cabin staff, and I hope that such an incident never occurs again. May God protect our nation and the entire aviation community from all disasters.”
