"Alanya Has Lost Its Premium Russian Tourists: They Are Not Coming Back"

The route of high-income Russian tourists, who hold significant importance for Alanya, has shifted to Egypt. This development has caused concern in the tourism sector.
Interest from high-income Russian tourists, considered part of the premium market, in Turkey is declining. The decrease in demand from this group, which is highly valuable for Alanya, is worrying local tourism professionals. According to reports, Russian tourists are now choosing Egypt instead.
LUXURY HOTELS MORE AFFORDABLE IN EGYPT
While Turkey and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) risk losing market share in the premium segment, Egypt’s share has doubled. With major hotel investments, Egypt has become an attractive destination for Russians. In addition to the new luxury hotel investments, the fact that luxury hotels in the UAE and Turkey are about 30% more expensive compared to Egypt makes Egypt a more advantageous choice.
