"Expected Traffic Enforcement Cameras Activated: Attention Alanya"

The Average Speed Violation Detection System (PTS-EDS), which will be implemented across Antalya including Alanya, will start monitoring drivers closely as of Friday, August 22, 2025.

Led by the General Directorate of Security, the project will electronically detect drivers exceeding speed limits by measuring travel times between entry and exit points on designated routes.

AIM: TO MINIMIZE ACCIDENTS

The new system, established in Alanya as well as in Adana, Mersin, Kırıkkale, and Konya, aims to enhance traffic safety and reduce accidents. Prior to implementation, drivers in Alanya were informed with warning signs placed on main roads and transit routes.

In its official statement, the General Directorate of Security said:

“Within the framework of the ‘Vision Zero’ and ‘Safe System’ approach, which considers even one loss of life in traffic as too many, the 2021-2030 Road Traffic Safety Strategy Document was published as a Presidential Circular. To prevent speed-related traffic accidents and ensure safe traffic flow, Average Speed Violation Detection Systems have been established on routes with frequent accidents. Starting from August 22, 2025, these systems will be actively used in speed enforcement. Protecting the lives and property of our citizens is our priority. We respectfully remind all drivers to comply with legal speed limits and traffic rules.”
