Alanya’s New Industrial Zone Covered in Dust and Smoke

Kestel’s New Industrial Zone Stuck in Dust: Shop Owners Demand Asphalt and Clear Timeline
In Alanya’s Kestel neighborhood, the newly built industrial site has been waiting for asphalt for nearly a year. Although infrastructure work has been completed, the roads remain unpaved, causing serious inconvenience to both shop owners and customers. The site hosts 572 shops, and many business owners complain that dust damages their products, forcing them to clean constantly. Some are even considering relocating due to high rents and low sales.
Despite repeated meetings with the municipality and the cooperative, business owners say they have not received a clear timeline for roadworks. “We pay our taxes and license fees, but the roads look like molehills. This is not acceptable for a tourism city like Alanya,” they said.
Restaurant owners complain that customers cannot eat comfortably due to the dust, and mechanics say vehicles are getting damaged by potholes.
The demand is clear: “Give us a date, pave the roads. We are tired of waiting.”
