The current situation of tradesmen and companies in Alanya is heartbreaking.

Second-hand shops in Alanya have recently started selling more office equipment than household items. Tradesmen, locally known as "Evkurcu," state that the increasing number of business closures has brought a new dynamic to the sector.
Ufuk Volkan Arslan, who is engaged in second-hand trading, is one of those closely observing this change. Arslan explains that while household goods used to dominate the market, now companies shutting down their businesses call them to sell office equipment. It is noted that small and medium-sized enterprises, especially in the real estate and construction sectors, are among the most affected.
LOW DEMAND, HIGH SUPPLY
Arslan points out that supply exceeds demand in the market, saying they have enough equipment to furnish many offices but struggle to find buyers. Among the sold items are office furniture, desks, chairs, armchairs, and air conditioners — virtually all kinds of office equipment. This situation is seen as an indicator of how economic uncertainties and rising costs are affecting businesses. Traditionally known for household goods trading, these shops now appear to be turning toward a new commercial route with the increase in business closures. Arslan sums up this shift by saying: “We are known as household dealers, but most of the demand in second-hand trade now comes from closed businesses.”
