Young People in Alanya Await Transformation: Goals Have Been Set

The Strategic Workshop report of the Alanya City Council Youth Assembly highlighted that the city is lagging behind in digitalization. Young people provided comprehensive recommendations in areas such as smart transportation, digital tourism, e-government, disaster management, and AI integration. It was stated, “Alanya should establish its digital identity, and young people should lead this transformation.”

Key problems and proposals outlined in the report:

Lack of digitalization in transportation: Smart traffic lights, occupancy-based parking systems, and mobile applications are missing.

Insufficient digital infrastructure in tourism: Multilingual mobile city guides, AR-supported historical tours, holographic promotions, and QR-based information systems are not yet implemented.

Technological weaknesses in disaster management: GIS-based risk maps and early warning systems are inadequate.

Limited e-government services: Online application and tracking systems are restricted.

Lack of innovation and entrepreneurship: There are no technoparks or incubation centers.

Lag in AI and data management: AI-based applications in tourism, education, and municipal services are not widespread.

Youth vision for technology: smart transportation systems, digital tourism guides, disaster management solutions, e-government and digital participation mechanisms, innovation ecosystems, and AI applications.

Strategic goals: establishing smart transportation infrastructure, expanding digital tourism guides, GIS-based disaster management systems, participatory e-government, establishing innovation centers and technoparks, integrating AI into local services.

The report also emphasized, “Digitalization is not only a technical transformation but also strengthens democratic participation and transparency. Alanya can build its smart city vision with the energy of its youth.”
