Babacan: Turkey’s minimum wage should be at least 33,000 TL in 2026

DEVA Party leader Ali Babacan, speaking live on Haberler.com, stated that the minimum wage in Turkey should be at least 33,000 Turkish liras in 2026.

He explained that considering accrued rights from previous years, inflation, and a fair share of wealth, a wage of 22,000 TL today must be increased by 50%.

Criticizing the current system, he said: “If real inflation has eroded wages by 45%, you can’t just raise it by 30% — that’s robbery,” Babacan emphasized.
