Under a new regulation by the Turkish Ministry of Trade, establishments such as cafes, restaurants and similar in Alanya must now adhere to mandatory price transparency.
From now on: items on discount must display the lowest price from the last 10 days, service charges and other surcharges have to be clearly listed, and customers must be offered a printed price list upon request.
Businesses must also display a price catalogue at the entrance, provide menus via QR-codes, and show both the previous and discounted price on the same label.
Hüseyin Değirmenci, head of the Alanya Restaurant & Boardinghouse Association, said: “This move is intended to curb excessive price hikes and enhance consumer trust.”
