Alanya Faces Two Major Issues: Tree-Removal Allegations and Parking Crisis

In Alanya, two pressing local controversies have emerged. First, in the Kargıcak neighborhood, residents allege the illegal cutting of trees — approximately 50 trees, including tall ones, were reportedly felled at a residential complex, sparking environmental concerns.
A concerned citizen filed a formal complaint, and authorities are expected to investigate to identify those responsible for the alleged destruction of green areas.
Meanwhile, in the city center along Yayla Yolu Street, there's a severe parking shortage. The covered parking lot of Uygun Center has been closed, forcing locals and business owners to park on sidewalks and road edges. This aggravates traffic congestion and leads to fines.
Business owners are urging authorities to reopen the parking facility or build a new one quickly, citing that ongoing fines are a burden on their already strained operations.
