Multiple Traffic Accidents on Antalya-Alanya Road: 8 People Injured in Series of Crashes

A series of three separate traffic accidents occurred along the D-400 highway between Antalya and Alanya today, according to local reports. A total of 8 people were injured, and traffic was briefly disrupted.
In the first incident at the Manavgat Kızılağaç intersection, a motorcyclist collided with a midibus from a hotel and was taken to hospital.
The second accident involved a vehicle losing control and crashing into medians, with both the driver and another motorist suffering injuries.
The third crash was a multi-vehicle collision at the Sanayi Overpass junction: a tourist bus struck several slowing vehicles. Among the wounded were three Russian nationals.
Police and gendarmerie teams have launched investigations, and traffic flow was restored after emergency response. The string of accidents has renewed concerns about road safety on this heavily trafficked highway.
Analysis & Outlook:
The accidents highlight risks on the D-400 highway, particularly due to heavy tourist and shuttle-vehicle traffic.
Enhanced safety measures — such as speed control systems and improved crash barriers — could help prevent future collisions.
City authorities and transport agencies may need to adopt long-term strategies to improve road infrastructure and traffic monitoring on this critical route.
Public awareness campaigns targeting both tourists and shuttle operators may also play a role in reducing accident rates.
