Alanya Breathes a Sigh of Relief: Occupancy Surpasses 90%

Tourism activity in Alanya and the Mediterranean region surged during the Eid al-Adha holiday. Mehmet Dahaoğlu, Vice President of ALTİD, reported that hotel occupancy in Alanya reached 80–90% during the holiday.
The Eid holiday has been a lifeline for tourism in Alanya and the Mediterranean. With strong interest from international visitors, occupancy rates peaked and industry representatives are accelerating post-holiday planning. Dahaoğlu commented on the season’s outlook and expectations:
OCCUPANCIES BROUGHT SMILES
Mehmet Dahaoğlu stated, "Tourism activity in Alanya and the Mediterranean region reached a peak during the holiday. Hotel occupancy climbed to 80–90%, especially driven by tourists from Germany, the UK, Poland, Russia, and Scandinavia. Occupancy rates in Lara and Belek reached 95–100%, with Alanya ranking third just behind these areas."
PLANS ACCELERATE FOR AFTER THE HOLIDAY
Highlighting the positive effect of Europe’s Pentecost holiday coinciding with Eid, Dahaoğlu said, "The overlap of these holidays drove tourism across Antalya to a peak. However, a slowdown is expected after the holiday. Domestic bookings are low and visitor numbers from Europe and CIS countries are insufficient, so occupancy rates may decline. The industry hopes for renewed activity in July and August. But currency fluctuations and rising travel and accommodation costs are causing empty streets and concern among local businesses at the start of the season. Hotel operators plan to attract domestic tourists with campaigns and special discounts after the holiday."
