“Zero Tolerance” in Alanya: Safe Products and Food Hygiene Under Strict Oversight

In the city of Alanya, authorities have stepped up quality control measures across food & consumer goods, enforcing a “zero tolerance” policy towards unsafe products and hygiene violations.

According to the local District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, approximately 4,785 inspections were carried out in the first 10 months of 2025, with 121 businesses fined a total of around 4.5 million TL.

The enforcement covers the complete supply chain: from production and import through to retail. Any entity found selling goods without proper labeling, sanitary compliance or documentation is subject to immediate action, including product confiscation and fines.

Consumers are urged to check labels, expiry dates and product information, and to report suspicious items via official channels. These ongoing inspections are intended to protect consumer safety and bolster market confidence in Alanya.
