An indictment of roughly 3,900 to 4,000 pages has been prepared alleging that former Istanbul mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu served as the leader of a criminal organisation.
The document charges 402 suspects, including 105 in custody.
Alleged offences include forming and leading a criminal organisation, taking bribes, rigging tenders, laundering proceeds, illegal data handling, and large-scale fraud.
The indictment cites 143 discrete offences over a decade-long period and claims a public loss exceeding 160 billion TL.
Prosecutors are seeking a sentence for İmamoğlu of 828 to 2,352 years’ imprisonment.
The case has been forwarded to the court for assessment of the charges and process routing.
