In the heart of Alanya, a cesspool overflowed, spreading unpleasant odors, and despite the pollution on Cleopatra Beach, people continued to swim. This led to the saying, "Alanya has seen this too."
Recently, the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change imposed a fine of 464,585 Turkish lira on the municipality for sea pollution caused by the wastewater treatment facility at Konaklı and Damlataş beaches. While the situation remains, the overflow of the cesspool in the pier area spread foul odors, drawing criticism from passing citizens and tourists. Some tourists took photos of the overflowing cesspool with their phones.
Additionally, the pollution on the surface of the sea at the world-famous Cleopatra Beach was recorded by locals with their mobile phones. Despite the waste and pollution near the shore, some citizens continued to swim. The overflowing cesspool and the water pollution at Cleopatra Beach led many to say, "Alanya has seen this too."
