Is there an epidemic in Alanya? The disease is spreading

In Alanya, sudden temperature changes — fluctuating between hot and cold — are contributing to the spread of illnesses. Alanya District Health Director Nadir Aldemir has advised residents to exercise caution during such weather and emphasized the importance of vaccination.

These rapid temperature shifts have led to an increase in illnesses, with flu and colds being particularly common. The warm days and cool nights further spread these conditions. The primary preventive measures include healthy eating and vaccination.

Aldemir warned residents of the health risks associated with temperature changes: “Sudden temperature fluctuations can weaken immunity. During this deceptive weather, it's essential to pay attention to clothing. People in high-risk groups should get a flu vaccine before the temperatures drop further. Flu vaccines are available in Alanya; residents can get a prescription from their family doctor and get vaccinated. Additionally, staying hydrated, consuming foods rich in vitamin C, and eating green vegetables will help boost immunity”.
